I'm not positive this is where I should put this, so please move if there is somewhere else.

DH was out doing yard work and had the skirting off of our trailer where we had the lawn mower and things stored for the winter. He said he saw an orange cat go in under the house. Now he's been trying to get him out and we can't seem to find where he went! It's possible he went back out when DH was not looking/around the other side.

DH took siding off on both sides and shined his big 'spotlight' all around but we're not 100% sure he's out.

I had him put a small container of food under the house where he went in. I told him to maybe to put the skirting back and we'll keep checking?

Any ideas how to make sure he's out/get him out? We've tried shaking treats and calling. (most cats in this neighborhood if they are feral are semi-socialized at least from people feeding them....)

Could you put out food-esp some smelly moist food at dawn or dusk and watch for the cat for say 30 minutes then remove food if no cat shows. If food is eaten you could slowly move food dishes farther away from house??
You might need three helpers each with flashlights and one on each side to make sure cat doesn't escape????
