has anyone heard if any H.E.B. Hill Country Fair Dinnertime dry food has been recalled?
Since my Sassy has been showing kind of like a cold, I'm worrying that something more serious might be wrong.
Thank you all.

I am not familiar with that brand of food, but not too many dry foods have been recalled yet..I have the feeling as time goes on, more and more foods will start to be re-called..

If you still have a bag or you can go to HEB to check the bag you're feeding them, check for the ingredient "wheat gluten". That's the problem ingredient in the recalled foods as far as anyone knows. Most of the dried foods aren't affected (at least they haven't been announced as such) so you're probably okay. But check for that ingredient.

I checked the website and for Hill Country Fare they only have pouches and cans right now.
I also went into the H.E.B. website and have entered it into web searches and there is no mention of the dry food until now.
Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I read on the cat food bag that it contains CORN GLUTEN and not Wheat Gluten. Is it the same?
Thanks.

NO they are not the same/.\\

Corn gluten is from corn

wheat gluten is from wheat

So far only hills SD RX M/D is the only recalled dry food... all others are cuts in gravy .... and now some jerky type treats

Hi...........Yes, if I remember correctly the Hill Country Fare food was on the list from Day 1. If it were me, I'm not sure I'd buy the dry food, either. I just have a bad feeling this recall isn't over yet and that more dry food will end up being recalled beyond just the Hill's m/d. I hope I'm wrong.

With the number of foods on that list, avoiding dry food, too, leaves very little to pick from. All of mine eat an Rx food and now I'm worried about that since m/d was recalled. I'm reaching all new levels of paranoid now about what my cats are eating.

I feel the same!! I am soooo worried about giving them any brand of food right now!!
I think that I am going to have to buy them some "human food". Maybe some ham, turkey, soups??
I will go to Petco today and ask them for any suggestions.

You could also get some Gerber baby food--just the plain turkey, beef, chicken or whatever without any other added ingredients. Probably does not meet the exact nutritional needs of a cat (mine love it as a treat) but it could help supplement until you figure out exactly what is safe at this point
