Hey everyone,

I am getting a Kitten in 3-4 weeks. she is a pinky/champagne colour and I think we are going to call her Molly-Sue.

Has anyone got any tips on how to get her used to her new home away from her mum because this is the first kitten I have ever had. Also has anyone any tip on how to introduce her to our Siberian Husky?

Thanks and I am looking forward to what you all have to say!
xx

Hello and welcome! First question is, how old is she? Because that will affect what you have to do. Second, where did she come from? I mean is she already socialised to people etc?

great news, and its good that you visit, the kitty will be used to you and your scent, so when she finally comes home with you she will recognise things
how exciting for you

When she fist comes home, its best to let her relax and settle in a room to herself, you know just have water, cat-litter, toys and a bed/blanket or an old t.shirt for her. Let her out to play and explore your house, but it would be best to have you dog in another room while she does this. She will sniff around getting used to her new home

Just take things slow - I suppose your dog is fairly big, so at 1st I would just let the dog get used to kittys scent by letting your dog sniff her blanket. Then you could let the dog sniff the kitty, you can hold the kitty just let the dog gentle smell her

Keep us posted and do post some photos
we just love photos here

Good luck with things
and feel free to ask anything

first concern here is that she is 5 weeks now and you are getting her in 3-4 weeks? That is way too young, only 8-9 weeks! She needs to be with mom until 12 weeks or so. She still needs to learn all sorts of cat things from the mom, it can lead to behavioral problems later in life if they are seperated way too young at 8 weeks only.

This little kitten has been pretty much hand reared so they can actually leave there mother at 8 weeks if needs be but we are having her at 9 weeks.
