My 2 6-month old male kitties were neutered today. I brought them home this afternoon and everything seemed fine. It was suggested I confine them so I put them in the bathroom. I heard some noises in there so I went to check and it looked like 1 cat was 'humping' the other!?!? I've never seen them do that before and don't know if it has something to do with the procedure today or what? Any suggestions or help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

It's an expression of dominance....fairly normal in male cats of that age. Probably coincidental that it happened today. Although, siblings can come home from the operation and sort of "not recognize" their brother/sister, as they were separate at the vet and both came home with strange smells from the vet on them...so that could have a little bit to do with it.

Also it takes a month for all the hormones to be out of their system, so they could still think they are a young tom right now.

I would sprinkle a little cornstarch baby powder in their coats and brush/comb out so they smell the same to each other
