I was juat searching craigslist and someone posted this. I want to email them and try to help them out but dont know what to say. The post....

Dehydration??? HELP!
So I saved a puppy from certin death. She was found in a bag, thrown in someones trash. Nice huh?? So I took her to the vet and they said she seemed ok, got her first set of shots and sent us on our way. Today I was playing with her and i pulled up on her extra skin and it took a second to sink back down. I know with people that is a sign of dehydration. Is it the same with dogs?? She is very young (4-6 weeks) and im sure all she ever had to eat was from her mother. Her stools were very liquidy when she was first here but with each bowl movement they are getting more and more firm, now that shes on puppy food. Just wondering if anyone has any helpful advice!! Maybe its just her breed. They said she was a boxer/ lab mix, but she is sooooo tiny I think she might be a pug mix. Ahhh!! Someone help!!!!!!

She should go back to the vets to for maybe some IV fluids.

Also force feeding her some water would be good. Some of the Esbilac would be good if she's 4-6 weeks. (esbilac is canine version of KMR)

Not much else one can do other than the vet.

the skin should take 1-2 seconds to go back down. if she isn't drinking and getting dehydrated then she should go back to the vet for fluids or something.

She just eamailed me back and this is what she said.

"Thank you very much! I called the vet and they said to try pedialyte for 24 hours. If she gets worse to bring her in, OR of she does not improve in 24 hours. She is eating and drinking like a champ so I am hopeful!! She will be ready for her new home soon
"

So lets pray she gets better. The little darling.
