We call banners signatures, or siggys for short. You have a choice on whether you do this yourself or have somebody else do it for you. You do not have to have this done for you. Some people like to do their own by clicking on User Cp and then Edit Signature. Software is provided there to allow you to make your own. It is your choice. There are threads on this forum that explain all about making your own should you choose to do so.

Just a quick note to add that there is no software to bake a 'banner' under the user CP, you need to have software installed on your computer and then upload the banner you have made.

There is the ability to include text, link to pictures and put smilies in your siggy line.

You can also find anything else you may need to know about signatures here
