I am not fortunate enough to know Neet personally, but I have often noticed her intriguing posts... and recently, I've wondered about the Orwell quote in her signature:

"You sleep safe in your beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do you harm." - George Orwell

The quote always makes me think of Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men" -- his "You can't handle the truth" tirade about "deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall..." This always makes me wonder if Neet has chosen the quote as a direct expression of her beliefs, or for its more subtle implications.

So if we're supposed to roast Neet... um... perhaps I could mention that, despite the revelatory potential of such a multitude of posts, her socio-political principles remain obscure.

Hm. Maybe roasting is not my best thing...

George Orwell fought for the left-wing POUM against Franco in the Spanish Civil War, whilst I am aware of critcisms of some of his writing this (for me) will always be something I can respect

I know this cannot be used to explain Neet's 'socio-political principles'

Nice job on the Orwellian theories. Now, could you repeat all that in Southern drawl English for me, please????

No, its certainly not an attempt to earn more respect in the eyes of my favorite TCS cats owner.

Silent Nate -- Orwell's fine by me! As are most good left-wingers...

Neet -- Southern-drawl English translation would be... ah, let's see... "That gal sho' talks plenty, but I ain't got 'er figgered out yit."

My Da reckons that he and Bill played together as children- I often give Calvin & Hobbes collections to people signed by myself

It makes me proud, the fact that my brother has (imho) wasted a talent equal to this does not
