Yesterday morning when I woke up Sweetie was just lying on the bathroom floor. Normally she wakes me up by putting her face so close to mine her whiskers go up my nose. Anyway she had the runs in the utility room where the litter box is. When I got to work I called the vet and got an appt. I took her in on my lunch hour. I work and live close to the vet. She put her in the clinic. Last night she called to say that tests show her kidneys were comprised and she thought it was due to tainted food. I had used about 3 of the recalled pouches and maybe a couple of cans. Sweetie is a petite 18mo. old. I hope that she makes it. I really missed her last night. My other cat Juno doesn't show any signs of illness. Send good vibes to Sweetie.

Oh no!! Praying that the vet is able to help Sweetie and that she pulls through this. Big, big hugs for you as I'm sure you're just worried sick.

I'm so sorry! Hopefully, the problem was caught soon enough that Sweetie's kidneys haven't been damaged too badly. Sending loads of (((healing vibes))) to your sweet girl. Loads of (((calming vibes))) to you, too. I can imagine how upset you are.

Thanks for all the good vibes. I have another question. The vet said Sweetie will be in the clinic until Fri. Would it be advisable to visit her or would it make her depressed to see me leave without her. I don't want to make it worse for her. I'd like to give her her favorite toy mouse, but maybe thats no good either. Any advice will be appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear this and I hope she recovers fully. I would go and see her, take her some toys and also a used sweatshirt or towel covered with your scent. That will make her feel much more comfortable.

I'm sorry to hear about your Sweetie. Whenever Rambo was hospitalized I would always go and see him. The vet and techs would always tell me that Rambo's health would improve during and after my visit. He would perk up, try to eat etc. instead of lying listless in the cage. It seemed he just needed to know that I was still there, and loved him.

I'm sorry your girl is sick

I agree that you should visit her as often as you can, and take some of "her things" that she will recognize because having her own blanket or toy and something with your scent on it will comfort her. You don't want her to think she has been left there!

Lots of get well vibes for Sweetie

I have always gone to visit mine when they were there - I think it makes them feel better and calms them down seeing something familiar.
Wouldn't you want visitors if you were in the hospital?

Hope she is ok!

As the others have said, I'd go visit & take her favorite toys & something you've worn. Honestly, if one of mine had to be hospitalized for several days I don't think anything would keep me from visiting them.
Sending loads of (((healing vibes))) for your sweet girl.
