Hello! My name is Debbie and I am a newbie! I just got a pregnant cat today from someone who was about to bring her to the shelter
I am a big animal lover so I couldn't see that happen.

Anyway, Baby (her name) is a sweet cat, she loves us already. We don't know how far along she is, so I'm going to bring her to the vet and maybe he can tell. Her belly is pretty big though! I have a seperate room all set up for her just incase it is anytime.

I also have a chihuahua (who I am keeping away from momma) and pet rats
I also have 3 kids

Good on you for taking in a pregnant cat, I hope that the birth is easy for the mum and that the kittens are all chubby and healthy and that you can find wonderful loving homes for them where they can thrive!

Welcome to TCS, you will find loads of great advice and friendship here

Dear LVCAT and family:

THANK YOU for adopting Baby and caring for her. If her pregnancy is early enough, you should consider having her aborted, as (I'm sure you're aware), millions of sweet cats and kittens annually lose their lives just in domestic shelters due to lack of enough loving homes for them. I hope you're able to do this, and get her spayed at the same time.

I think she is wayyyy to far along, her belly is HUGE and I can feel babies move. I do have homes lined up for 5 so far, If there is more then that I have a few other possible canadites. We will keep one or two ourselves as well.

Good for you and may the pregnancy and birthing go well! Hope you'll seriously consider having her spayed after her kittens are weaned (8 weeks minimum); and get any kittens you keep spayed/neutered at 4 months or beyond. It's the caring thing to do!

Dear Flisssweetpea:

Hi again and I have to say, that is a GORGEOUS siggy you, Lily and Tolstoy have there -- the plaid motif is so spring-y and it compliments their beauty and handsomeness so well!
