My 12 week old kittie "Savanna" has just discovered my amazon parrot "Pedro." I caught Savanna trying to reach up to the bird and it scared me. My calico "Darla" is bigger and sometimes she'll get near the bird but she knows not to get too close. Now I'm afraid to leave Savanna loose. My bird could hurt her. Any suggestions on what to do to keep Savanna away from Pedro's cage.

Some people use 'noise destraction' to help train a kitty stop an unwanted behaviour

have a small box with some pebbles in and rattle it when kitty approaches the cage - obviously this only works when you are in !

Actually, your bird could kill her. My SIL had the same issue and fortunately, Stanley (the kitten) only had his tail pecked on once (double yellow headed Amazon). He never went near the bird again. The bird is going to protect itself. Perhaps it is wiser to leave them separated for a while.
