Hello All - I just heard from the vet and Simba's diabetes test came back normal! Yhippee! I have been on pins and needles. She said sometimes stress can cause glucose in the urine. With the combination of the urinary issues and the fact that he had to sit in the vets all day so they could get a sample, leads me to believe the poor little guy was probably very stressed. It never ceases to amaze me what stress can do... animals and humans.
He does have Sterile Cystitis which falls under FLUTD. She just recently switched his diet and he is taking Cosequin every day. She said to give it
6-8 weeks to get into his system to see if it is going to make a difference. When he has a bad day I've been giving him the Phenoxybenzamine which does seem to help. She said if he has a flareup that last for more then a couple of days I should call her. So... keeping my fingers crossed.
