Bush is insane. With the senate having voted to pull combat forces out of Iraq, we believe a very possible a scenario like this gets played out:
At some point, a U.S. naval ship will stray into Iranian waters. Iran uses missiles, or maybe just rocket-propelled grenades (Iran uses some of the most advanced torpedos and missiles in the world, sold to them by Russia and China). If there are enough dead or wounded, Bush resurrects Johnson's Gulf of Tonkin speach.
On the sly, we give the Israeli's the "go ahead" to bomb the three nuclear facilities in Iran (Natanz, Busher, and one near Arak).
We believe their thinking is that we have to do it while we still control the air space.
One of Iran's nuclear facilities is 40 stories under ground (Natanz), so they'll have to use a nuke to take it out. There are no conventional weapons that can take that type of facility out.
I don't know what happens after that. But is isn't good: when we invaded Iraq, 625 of their combat planes were flown to Iran - they preferred Iran had them than the U.S.
