Bilbo Baggins

My beautiful Bilbo Baggins passed yesterday. He was 24 years old.
Unfortuately i couldnt be with him, i moved to Canada in November, and he stayed with my parents.
Last week he took a turn for the worse and couldnt eat without being spoonfed. Mum and Dad hoped he would pass gently in his sleep at home, but by yesterday his kidneys had failed, and Dad took him to the vet to help him pass gently and peacefully.
Its funny how when in life one door closes another opens. At the time my Bilbo was going to sleep peacefully, i was picking up a foster dog from a rescue called Barney. He had been abandoned tied up in a field. We had got the call to come and get him earlier in the morning.
When i heard the news on the phone, Barney came and gave me a great big wet lick on the cheek. It seemed to me it was a message from Bilbo saying not to be sad, and that Barney needed me now. I think Bilbo sent me Barney.

Rest in peace beautiful Billy, we will remember you always.

I am so sorry to hear about your precious Bilbo, please know that he is now at the Bridge and he is healthy again. And I think you are right about Barney too, I think he was probably sent to you to help with your pain.

You had 24 wonderful years with Bilbo! That's great! I'm sorry for your loss, but at least he didn't suffer for long and he was with the people he loved.

Wow - 24 is a grand old age for a kitty I too couldn't be with my Charley when she passed - luckily my dad was there for the last act of kindness. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm so happy Barney found you.
