I haven't used the dry Venison and Green Pea as a treat but I did use S/D as a treat for Kolohe today. He was hungry long before meal time so I gave him a few kibbles of S/D. He thought it was a fine idea.
Unfortunately the same idea didn't work for Eric.

Ok, Natural Balance just E-mailed me back a couple of days ago and they say that ALL of their ingredeints are from the USA and that they are of Human Grade.

I started feeding the Dry to my cats and I am going to start the wet next week (dont want to shock their little systems too much) . So far they LOVE the dry food. I put out two bowls, one science diet and one Natural balance, Both my boys went right for the Natural balance and ingnored their food they have been eating for years!!!!!! Good bye Science Diet and GOOD RIDDANCE!!

mine are really liking the kibble, and we just tried the Chicken & Liver Pate canned. which they love. i just ordered a case on Pet Food Direct since they liked it so much (that's actually cheaper than our local petco
).

I'm at work right now, so I don't have the cans with me, but I swear that they have fish meal on the ingredient list for Venison and Green Pea canned. The ingredients on the website say otherwise however. If someone has a can handy, can you confirm this?

No fish meal is mentioned on the can that I have.
My kitties haven't tired it yet.
They did not like the Chicken/Liver pate.

Did anyone who's cats didn't eat the Green Pea and Venison have any luck with another flavor from that brand? Cairo and Paris won't touch it. On the other hand, Moscow is using everyone one of his tricks to get at their new food. He really likes it, and he dislikes all food normally. Is there Natural Balance dog food?

I went to PetSmart to find a new food for my cats as I had been feeding them Nutro. When I asked one of the staff to direct me to food that had not been manufactured by Menu Foods, he wouldn't tell me and got all huffy that I asked. He said everything that is on their shelves is safe. I went to Petco instead and was directed to Natural Balance.

I am going to try another flavor to see if it takes. Both my girls are acting like they are starving right now. If I can't get them to eat NB are there any other foods I can get?

Yes NB makes doggy food too ! A couple of my cats didn't like the venison & pea, trying some of the ultra now.

My cats will not touch the venison and pea...maybe because I HATE peas
They love the Tuna with Shrimp

mine only like chicken & liver pate, in addition to the regular formula kibble. merrick turducken was also a hit here.

i'm waiting to hear back from a couple companies about samples, then i might be making some more orders from pet food direct. i also have a couple cans of petguard we are giving a try. i don't have high hopes, as they hated it 2 yrs ago.

Yes. I got some and Swanie and Cindy are both eating it. I won't say they're gobbling it down and looking for more, but maybe once they get used to it. Neither of them would touch the green pea and venison

I have a can here...Salmon Oil is the only fish product listed.

Are you talking canned or dry, in regards to the Venison and Pea? All of my cats like the dry...canned-wise, I have one that wouldn't touch Venison/Pea and the Ultra..he tried the Chicken Liver Pate but quickly backed away with a look of disdain on his face. There must be a common ingredient between the flavors that he doesn't care for, as he's normally not that picky. My other 7 cats love all of the flavors.

There is a thread here somewhere that discusses NON menu foods...might check that out. Finding other non Menu brands would probably require a trip to a smaller pet store or feed store. Should be more choices there. Are you looking for wet or dry?

All my cats like the Turkey and Giblets and the Ultra flavors. They also like the Venison and Pea.

For anyone concerned about fish, the Turkey and Giblets contains fish meal and the Ultra contains both salmon and fish meal. For that reason my two "crystals cats", Eric and Kolohe, get only the Venison and Pea. Fortunately, they both like it.

I love NB. All my cats eat California Natural dry, but they all love the Ultra NB wet, and a few like the venison and green pea. Good ingredients too. I'm glad that stores like Petco and Petsmart are starting to carry good foods, maybe everyone will start feeding them and leave the purina and friskies on the shelves.

I tried the turkey and giblets the other day and all ate it, which is an improvement. Today I tried the Venison and Green Pea and they all gobbled it up and then searched for more.

Sash loves Natural Balance canned, his favorites being salmon, tuna and shrimp and oceanfish. He's been eating Natural Balance for a long time now.

Thank you--I must be losing my mind. I was sure that I saw it there, but I just checked my cans again, and there is no fish meal on that one. The Turkey and Giblets variety has fish meal, but not the Venison and Green Pea.
