He is really cute. I think it is of a cub from a zoo in Germany that had been rejected by it's mother. I seen a video on the news very recently. I think it's the same cub that an animal rights advocate said should be allowed to die.

Yes it is. They claim he'll be too attached to humans. Ummm - he's going to spend the rest of his life in a zoo, so what difference does that make? The plan is to very gradually "wean" him from his foster father, get him used to other bears, and find another zoo in about two years, where he can contribute to breeding.

It's a good thing these idiots weren't around when Klondike & Snow were being raised here in Denver. Same story - their mother, who was a first time mother, abandoned them. Luckily, they were found within hours of their birth, and were soon the STARS of Denver!

Here's a link to a book about them, which has the only pics of them as babies that I could find: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1570...58#reader-link

And here's a little blurb and pics of them now at Sea World Florida: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1570...58#reader-link

I was lucky enough to be able to see them in person when they were still pretty little. They weren't even walking yet - just crawling.
OMG, they were the cutest little things EVER!
And man were they LOUD!

These AR freaks are just that - freaks. There is no reason in the world that Knut shouldn't have been saved and allowed to live a happy life.

He is just the cutest thing ever. How can an animal group want to let this beautiful animal die?

You'd think an animal group would be advocating his survival

If he's going to be a zoo animal all his life, why should it matter if he's raised by a human?

I have noticed the reports said that "an animal activist said blah", as in it was one vocal person - not all animal activist groups.
