I rescued a kitten from a major road from a fireworks store, and I was told by the vet that he was a Bombay, even tho he had been found as a stray. I just wanted to confirm this, these pictures may help! I did a little research on the breed also and he seems to fit the bill with his stature and fur length/texture. He has had HUGE goldish/green eyes which I hear is very commonplace in that breed...He's all grown up now tho!

Thanks for the help!

My exboyfriend has a papered Bombay, and your very lovely guy looks nothing like her.
He is gorgeous though.
Green/gold eyes are not the norm with Bombay, red-gold to copper is with copper being the desired color.
Hard also to tell from pics, but the coat on the Bombay lays much closer to the body.

I don't think there are any Bombay owners on the site, but I think there is Burmese owner, the two breeds are almost identical in type.

There are three of us, I think. You're right, the face is not the right type for a Bombay, nor is the eyecolor. The coat seems a little long, too. But he sure is gorgeous... I do love black kitties!

Here's a link to a Bombay that matches the type I was referring to.
It's possible that there are Bombay lines that are more elongated in type, with a longer muzzle and less compact body, but I don't see them at shows.

I have a Burmese, and she is nearly identical in type, with a short muzzle, round expressive eyes, close-laying shiny coat, well-muscled body ("brick wrapped in silk"), and small size. The only difference is that she is brown and I can't show her because her eye color is too green-yellow.

He doesn't look like the Bombays in the breed description pictures, etc. but he is definitely a gorgeous kitty!

Black cats are my favorites

Godiva is BEAUTIFUL!
I love her coat color and texture. You can tell she is very soft. Thanks for sharing. Is she considered a chocolate?
