Are there any in Ohio? The vet office I go to just called to ask me if I know of anyone that rescues them and I hate to say no because he will be euthanized. But I need to know if anyone knows of a rescue shelter that takes them and doesn't euthanize or an individual rescuer or someone with other FeLV+ cats? I will take a negative kitty that is vaccinated in exchange if that helps!

thanks!

Jen,
Call the Geauga county humane society. They may be able to help you.
It's a shame. I had an FELV + cat that lived to be 14. Many are just carriers.

I also know someone who has a "cattery" of sorts if you will...she may have some connections.

you star!

My parents had a budgie called Icarus (he adored my brother best though, followed him around like a little dog
) and he was shortened to Icky too! I hope your new addition is as friendly, charming, and beautiful as their budgie was! It's a good name, if he was anything to go by

he peed in the carrier on the way home and was stinkin to high heaven
no one wanted to get to close to him when we got home
so things went very smoothly
Posey only woke me up once in the night yodeling at him, Posey yodels before an attack
Icky even rolled over and showed his belly to my beastie Gaia, he seems very submissive
that can good and bad though

Susie, he seems to have escaped from Katie somehow.

If it comes up again there is an organization called SICSA in Dayton that will take positive cats. They are a no kill shelter that also has a network of foster homes. Some of the foster homes are just for positive cats. They also try to find adoptive homes for these cats.
