You should consider a basic blood test, just tell your doctor you feel tired a lot. You could be low in something. There are some days I feel like I can't stay awake, I do because I have various pets and other stuff to take care of. However it makes watching tv nearly impossible, I'll doze off.

Yeah, this is the reason I dislike my doctor. I've complained many, many times about being so tired, and all he tells me is that I should exercise more. Now I'll fully admit that exercise is not something I do nearly often enough, but somehow I doubt that'll suddenly make me less exhausted.
He also says, as I take medications for hypothyroidism, depression and anemia that those are "very good reasons to be tired" and just kind of implies that this is the way it'll always be... Perhaps it's time for me to find someone else!

Can him!
There's no reason to keep going to a doc that won't listen. Besides, you have to have energy to exercise to begin with
if you feel like crud it just isn't going to happen.

Oh my God---how can you function with only 3 hours sleep??? I've had problems with insomnia for many years--perhaps it's not true insomina--but I often, usually 1-2 nights a week, have trouble sleeping. I seldom ever feel well-rested anymore.

I just got out of the ER this morning because my iron count fell to 6.8 when it should be a 12 they said. My feet, ankles, and part of my legs swelled up big last night for some reason and I started feeling bad and my legs were aching very bad so I decided to go in. The doctor wanted to admit me and do a blood transfusion but I didnt... I was already in there for over 4hrs and they took 6 blood tests and more and I was ready to go.
I feel tired alot, get dizzy, and sleep quite a bit sometimes when it gets really low. So, yes you should get a blood test.

eww bananas

I already have to eat before taking my anti-inflammatory, I can't lay down after I take them either.

Maybe I missed something, what where you in the hospital for? I hope you're feeling better now.

I call that a sleep hangover.
I'm sure someone on here knows why too much sleep makes you feel sick.
Sounds like it would be a good idea for you to go to the doctor for some blood tests to check your potassium, iron, thyroid, and maybe your blood count as well - it can be done with one simple blood test and hopefully you can figure out what's making you soo sleepy
Sorry you're not feeling good. / Here's the thread about my delightful trip to the hospital and why i had to go

Ewww bananas...... I LOVE LOVE LOVE sleep too.
Maybe so- also- if you have any type of GI problem (IBS, gastroparesis, other things like that which cause you to use the ladies room a lot- you can loose a lot of potassium that way- so it might be something to talk to your doctor about if you do.)

Back in HS, I was good on 5. Now I'm needing about 8-9, though because I'm still a night person, I typically get 6-7. I tend to sleep a lot on the weekends. If I get too little sleep, I get chest pains and feel sick and weak.
