running eyes

Whenever my cat finishes eating his dry food his eyes water A LOT. He gets eye gunk and tears running down his face. Is this normal? Could it be allergies? Or is it dust from the food?

No it isn't normal.I would switch brands. It sounds like it must be a allergy from the dry food. Does his eyes clear up ? Or are they like this all the time. A trip to the vets would be a good idea.To rule out any health problems.

Oh, they clear up after 10 minutes of being away from the food, He is fine other wise. No coughing, sneezing, vomiting or diarrhea. My other cat does not have this problem though. The food they are on is bad anyway and I would like to switch to Felidae. What do you think is causing the problem in the food? A grain or a meat? (they are on Purina cat chow indoor formula)

It's hard to pinpoint what is directly causing this. I agree that a gradual switch to a different food would be best, however if this continues you should schedule a visit to the vet
