I only recieved 100. I only got 1 of the math questions right. If they didn't have math I would have recieved a decent score, also I didn't do that well on perception.

I think the timer throws a lot of people off... I personally have test anxiety and cant stand to know that the test is timed... My brain just starts to shut down. And that darn beeping for the timer didn't help things. I've taken real IQ tests before and scored in the upper 120's.

I got a 108 on this thing. Some of the people who have responded to this thing should think about taking a real IQ test... If you scored that high... who knows what you could get on a real IQ test!

I've taken a real IQ test before, but that was when I was 13. IQ tests normally only test one type of intelligence, so it's not really fair to the other types of intelligences out there (or atleast that's what I've learned in my edpsych classes)

I have always scored high on IQ tests but my brain works that way, there are other people who are just as intelligent who score badly just because they don't work well with perception or math (as in this thread) but really, how often would you have to use those math problems in daily life, some things are much more important and not measured by IQ tests. That test had my palms sweating and my anxiety level up to the roof. I hated the pressure of the timer. I thought more about the time i had left than on the questions! Then my boyfriend kept chatting to me which made me screw up a few.

My first try I got 125, then went back and did it again got 132. I think if I brushed up on my vocab, I could do better.

Well, I had two parents and six cats all over me... and you're right, that timer does make you crazy! I know I stabbed a few random answers just to get something in. But I did eke out a 128:

Language - 12/12
Memory - 5/6
Logic - 9/12
Visual Memory - 5/6
Math - 10/12
Perception - 10/12

But when I was in school, I tested at 161! AUGH! Apparently, my brain cells are dropping like flies...

I bet if the dumb timer wasn't involved, we all could do better. I recall doing an IQ test in school and there wasn't a timer!

The test has made me think that I should be doing more mental exercises to clean out all the cobwebs and rust in my head!

It seems to me they had more math questions than any other types of questions. To me, doing well or poorly in Math isn't a true sign of intelligence or lack of. It all depends on whether or not you even studied the type of math that was on the test.

I agree Hope.

I can tell you the math section should not be difficult, this math is like grade 9 math or lower pretty much and I know this because I've had to study how to teach these type of math questions for grade's 1 to 9.

I didn't get 1 math question wrong, but I've studied it. PLus it's probably been a long time since grade 6 or 7 for most of us!!

I find it hard to believe that MOST TCS members got so far over 100...Not because I don't think everyone is smart...To me it seems odd because I consider myself very intelligent and its strange that so many people beat my lowend score.

I would try it again undistracted, but the questions are the same until next week, so I would have a leg up. (My friend sent it to me and just said "do this" with no warning that it was not some cheesy test..and I was watching Greys Anatomy so I was anything but focussed
)

Next week I will pay more attention and hopefully get a better score.

I don't find it hard to believe, not saying because I think you're not smart, but because average intelligence is between 90 and 110 and the majority of the population score in this range and because there are so many factors like types of intelligences, anxiety, being tired, distractions and such.

I also think that people UNDERestimate themselves.
