I had all kinds of stuff planned for this afternoon when I got off work.

Now I am gonna hafta call a plumber and get him to come and clean out my lines. We have a prune tree that gets its roots into our pipes which causes our lines to be clogged.

I noticed this problem Tuesday night, and then last night when I flushed the potty it tried to come back into the tub.

Now I am gonna hafta wait and see if I can get a plumber to come to my house this afternoon.

My neighbor usta have one of those snake things though, so I am gonna try him first.

And I was gonna try and learn to crochet today too

Belinda, maybe you can have a tree specialist come out and dig a trench to clip the roots of that tree. Help keep it from happening again at least. They can probably do that and not hurt the tree....

I don't care if they dig that stupid tree up, we don't eat the stuff off of it anyways, I really don't know what kind of tree it is, I just called it a prune tree.

We have to do this every couple of years, and of course Jimmy is offshore, so I gotta take care of it.

Awwwww Belinda, I'm sorry you have to do this instead of learning to crotchet.
Why is it, that things like this happen and it couldn't be at a worse time?
Hope you get it fixed SOON!

if it is tree roots, I doubt a snake would fix the problem, but could be wrong. Hope you get it solved quickly though, and you do not have a huge dirty mess to clean up.

It is fixed, the roots of the tree get down in the pipes, and the snake thing just pulls them out.

Well I learned how to make a chain stitch, we think I should practice on making the chain stitch over and over tonight, then tomorrow she is gonna teach me how to single crochet, then I am gonna practice and practice on it.

I just gotta keep practicing on what makes me comfotable holding the thread, it is already getting a little better. I just keep forgetting what I am supposed to be doing. I can't do two things at one time.

Awww...I know that feeling! Glad to hear it got fixed however. Who is teaching you to crochet? I learned from my mom, but I don't do it all the time so I always have to have her show me the simple things again!
It's alot of fun and it makes you feel good when you can actually see how far you have come along and when you even complete a project! Just keep practicing!

Oh B, you will have to take a pic of what you are crocheting (when you get to that point)..I always wanted to know how to do that. I learned how to sew and knit, but forgot most of it now (knit). Good luck. And I am glad you got the root thing taken care of...

My neighbor is teaching me, I am still practicing my chain stitch. I am having a hard time trying to hold the thread and use the needle at the same time. It is getting a little better, and my friend told me it will be ok once I get comfortable doing it.

well good luck, and I am sure it will be well used in the future too. Just keep working on it, and you will gain confidence in your technique soon enough.

For sure kittydad! When I learned...or was trying to learn, the 18 year old who was teaching me at the time didn't let me get away with anything! I'd do a whole bunch of rows in one evening and she'd come over to inspect it the next day. Well sir, if she saw even one teeny, tiny mistake...she'd pull out the whole thing...no matter how much I'd done!!! I don't mind telling ya that it did upset me so!
However, because of her being such puurrrfectionist, I learned how to crochet correctly and not accept any mistakes in my own work, however small they might be.

How'se it going with the plumbing Belinda?

I'm sorry that happened to you Hilda! I'm glad my mom didn't do that to me. She said I was just practicing and that everyone makes mistakes, even the best of them. I just kept practicing a single chain crochet over and over until I could master that.

No worries! I'm actually glad about it...as I said, I learned to do it right and not be so sloppy about my work...it really helped me that she was so disciplined about it...for a teenager!!!...I think I must have been about 10 years older than she was at the time!
