This was on our local news last night. I feel so horrible for everyone affected throughout this whole ordeal.
I'm praying for everyone that was affected and thanking my lucky stars that I don't feed any of the foods affected.

Here's a link to the story:

And if you want to watch the video, there is a little link right above the picture of the cans of food. It made me cry. I can't imagine what it must be like.

There have been at least two cat deaths linked to this near me as well.
RIP kitties.

A family here in Savannah lost their two Jack Russell Terriers. It's tragic that these deaths are so widespread. RIP at the Bridge babies

That's horrible. I know someone who's cat died in January after a sudden illness - she thinks it was the pet food because he was eating food on the list. She's just beside herself and has spoken to the vet about it, but they'll never really know if that is what killed him. He did display all of the symptoms and the vet thought that it might have been something he ate and put him on prescription cat food, but by that point it was too late.

All I could find so far was a cat in Milford who may possibly be a victim. That's about an hour and 15 minutes from me. No actual local deaths that I could find.

A woman in another forum posted in February that her two Persians died of kidney failure within two weeks of each other.
It was a mystery at the time. Then she found out she had been feeding them the tainted foods.

I can't believe I switched our kitties from IAMS foil pouches right after Christmas... I don't know why I did that! Just dumb luck!

This is so heartbreaking, especially loosing pets under these circumstances!

All of the stories are horrible. It is so so sad that loving pet owners had no idea they were poisoning their pets. It could have been any of ours.

I am so glad I did not feed the foild pouches I had been given to my little babies. This whole thing is very tragic, and hopefully preventable in the future too. There were a few around here within about an hours drive on the news last night. It was also mentioned that there may be a class action lawsuit in the very near future. Hopefully the companies are made to feel the pain that the owners have, in one way or another. RIP littles ones, play hard, and live a joyous afterlife.
