She must eat -that could cause even more problems if she doesn't. Have you tried mixing the foods together gradually - that often works if they are picky.

Wet food is better for her, actually. Is there a reason why you want her to eat dry, other than that the vet recommended Royal Canin?
The wet foods you can get here (Germany) are fine, with the exception of the Nutro pouches, which you should avoid because of the recall in North America. Good, meaty brands that are reasonable in price and considered "complete" are Bozita and Schmusy.

Villy has royal canin wet and dry food. I leave the biscuits down all the time and feed wet food 3 times per day.

I use Royal Canin. I love the baby cat kibble for my kittens. The kibble is nice and small when they are starting onto food. I have never had any issues with it.

Foor dental health my Vets have allways said dry only.

I really recommend Royal Canin. Olivia is pregnant and on baby cat and the others are on the indoor variety. Every now and then I give them Felix meat or fish sachets to vary their diet a bit...but by and large, Royal Canin is great. It does wonders for their fur coats.

Royal Canin is a good brand. I do agree with the comments on wet food being better, however. If Heidi prefers wet food, I would not fight it.
Dry food's greatest benefit is for humans, who find it convenient.

Baby Cat is AWESOME for kittens!

And as far as dry food for dental health, the tide has turned on that mode of thinking and interestingly enough, many vets that are up on nutrition are recommending all wet! Several vet schools now teach that also. Colorado State Univ Vet School for sure is one. Certainly for kidney health, all wet makes sense. Just when ya think you;e got it all figured out!
But I'm not going to get into that debate. lol

If anyone is interested, here's the list of Royal Canin food in my home...

1. Baby Cat
2. Persian Kitten (why when I breed Shorthairs? I guess it's because I love the way if effects my Abys coats - I have noticed a difference in my kittens' coats when using Persian Kitten vs. Kitten)
3. Persian (supposedly for Dumdum but everyone eats it)
4. Sensible
5. Exigent (for the extremely fussy Reecie).
6. Queen

The different breed foods do make a difference to your cats - it may contain the same ingredients but the differently shaped kibbles does make eating easier for the cats - for example, I would never feed RC Maine Coon to Shorthairs - the kibble is harder than normal but great for the big coon jaws!

We feed RC now - breeder recommended. We used to feed Iams (like she did). Love the RC - cats have good weight, very good coats (shiny) and like to eat it

Sonic started out on the Babycat, I can't praise it highly enough, tiny kibbles for tiny mouths to get started out on and even the fuzziest kitten fur gets a nice shine to it. He's since moved onto kitten and we've also tried the young cat dental and growth when we couldn't get hold of the regular kitten, switching between them didn't upset his stomach one bit either. I think that when he is grown up we will put him onto the Siamese one, if the ingredients are good.

Kitekat isn't any better than Whiskas, meaning lots of fillers and by-products. I rather like the Bozita tetrapacks, as far as price/quality are concerned. An average size cat should get 3 - 4 meals out of one tetrapack. I put the pack in the fridge in a ziplock bag between feedings.
Multi-fit isn't bad.

As you may already know, I am a big fan of Bozita. Decent quality food at 17p per serving - can't argue with that. Radar loves the stuff, he enjoys most wet foods but Bozita is the only one that he scoffs down immediately without any leftovers to go in the bin. Which makes it even better value!

Quill is on the Indoor formula, he's lost his extra pound and he loves the kibbles. My vet recommended it as well and I won't switch.

What I didn't understand about RC is why they have so many varieties of adult food that states right on it 1-10 years old. My Buddy is going to be 11 in a couple weeks. They have one variety of "senior" food. I guess they don't plan on them living any longer than that?..... it rather irritated me. I've heard it's good food. Maybe knowing the kibble size would help us, Buddy tends to vomit whole pieces of food, and my #1 goal right now is to prevent vomiting to keep it from aggravating a stenosis in his throat.

I tend to go by what Cornell and Tufts (Cummings) say.
Cornell was 2nd in the 2007 US News best College of Veterinary medicine and Tufts is just down the road from me.

All I know is my own experience. My 8 year old Siamese cats have always eaten dry only. My 2.5 year old, who is spoiled, did eat some wet everyday. When they had their dental checkups my older cats had perfect dental health and this was their first cleaning in 8 years. The 2.5 year old was worse then expected.

My feline only Vet says all dry food diet is great and better for the teeth since we have no kidney problems.

Health care is always changing it flows back and forth after they see results of their recommendations.
