cat forgot to use the litterbox

Hi everybody,
one of our cats left her faeces on one of our blankets in the basement.We only found out yesterday because we use that room only for storage.Since the cat didn´t leave her initials we don´t even know who left the poop.everybody suspects it was the Maine Coon falling back to the bad habit she developed after she moved in with us a year ago.I feel it is her reaction to the fact that my husband and I went on holiday for2 weeks.Well we didn´t leave them alone. Our younger son who they know very well stayed with them but nevertheless : Has anybody got an idea how to prevent that in the futurethank you all for taking time to help me.Best wishes to you and the velvetpawsElisabeth Provos-Killing

Please take the kitty or kitties to the vet for a check up to be safe. I may not be a behavior problem, it may be a medical one.

Some times kitties are finnicky about their potty habits and need a very clean box. Perhaps the box wasn't up to the kitty's standards and so went to find a less smelly place to do "the deed" I have 7 kitties and 3 litter maids. We empty the boxes twice a day! Good luck!
