We just got a new cat from the shelter, and he has developed an upper respiratory infection, as many shelter cats do. He sounds so stuffy and congested. Does anybody know if there is anything I can do to help his stuffy nose? He is being treated by a vet and is on antibiotics.

Awwww! Poor little thing! I, too, adopted a cat from a shelter and it had an URI. A vaporizer will help with the breathing. If you don't have one, take the kitty into the steamy bathroom a couple times a day for a 'steam'. Also, make sure the kitty continues to eat well and drink plenty of water.

I just put the cat in the bathroom when my daughter took a shower, and he seems pretty happy. I don't know if it's a coincidence. We don't have a vaporizer anymore, so I will try the bathroom steam.
