Hi there!

I have flame point Himmies that have been eating only Nutro Dry. Last year I switched them to Solid Gold (katz n flocken) and they loved it! Their coats were even more glorious.

A couple weeks later Chloe developed a UTI. The vet suspected it was a combo of stress (we were moving and the realtors were showing the place 2-3 times a week) and the addition to the new food. We gave her medicine, she went back to using the box religiously and switched to her usual Nutro dry.

Then I hear about this recall. I know I have read it only effects wet food, but I can't help but think if that will change. I think Nutro works for my cats because of the PH levels amd cranberries used in the dry food. I have wanted to try other brands such as California or Innova, but I am always thinking "will this bring back her UTI?"

i highly doubt the recall will include dry foods. the problem seems really unique to the wet foods. if your kitty is healthy on nutro, why change it?

Recall is only wet packet and canned with chunks and gravey....

I am still feeding Nutro dry as that is 90% of one cats diet ... the dog is still eating her "cookies" which are a nutro dry ....

Thanks I am just scared! My husband is like "they are fine, don't worry." But after her UTI and the troubles that causes, I thought "not again."

Isn't this strange that this 'high quality food' is made in the same place as stuff I could buy at the drug store?

I agree. My cat loves Nutro dry and I love the value. Dry food was never included in the recall so why worry about it? If it works for your kitty stick with it.

that last part is the 60million $$ question ... so far my only theroy is the sliceor chunks in gravey requires a different canning method that may not be in the mftr owned plants

My babies are still eating Nutro dry.
I no longer trust the FDA to protect us.
I am really worried about all pet food until we know what is going on.

And I will need to buy more food in a day or two. It like a deserted island on the shelves of Petsmart.

I'm sure dry is fine. It wouldn't have been manufactured in the affected plants.

Just because something is made in the same place doesn't mean it's the same. The recipes for the premium foods and the inexpensive foods are different; they're just cooked in the same kitchen.

my cat Henry also developed a UTI, twice in the last month he has almost blocked, and this started last month. He is the only one of my cats who has ever eaten the Nutro wet. I just think it's fishy. My aunts chocolate lab also developed liver failure and was put to sleep on Jan. 4th. She ate Ca. Natural reduced fat, but it has been discovered that Menu foods plants make that. Fishy...
