About two weeks ago, one of my closest and dearest relatives, my Aunt Sue, passed away from complications from scleroderma. It's a degenerative and, in almost all instances, fatal disease that hardens the skin and internal organs. Most people diagnosed die within about ten years. Her passing has been brutal on all of us, but not as brutal as the disease itself.

To honor the memory of my aunt, I am trying to raise awareness of this horrible and somewhat rare disease. To learn more about it, check out http://www.scleroderma.org/. I'm glad to have this opportunity to educate people on this disease- it's the only way researchers will hopefully find a cure!

I'm so sorry for your loss...
Sending healing vibes to you! You know she is happy and pain free and crossing the Rainbow Bridge with much loved pets that went before and were waiting for her.

And thanks for the link, I for one had never heard of Scleroderma. You are succeeding already!

Thank you everyone for your kind words
. It has been the greatest loss I have ever felt before....Aunt Sue and I were very close. I feel good if just one or two people check out the site and learn more about this disease....any amount of raised awareness helps!
