litter box problems

I have recently gotten a kitten 7 weeks old. He pees and poops in the litter box with no problem except in the morning. Then he just finds a place on the tile and pees. I have tried to pick him up and put him in the litter box as soon as I get up in the morning, he just jumps out walks around a little bit then goes on the floor. This is the first kitten I have ever had so I need help desperately. Thank You

You might want to confine your kitty to one room for 48 hours with his litterbox, food and water. My first cat did the same thing. It took 48 hours and she got the idea. Sometimes it just takes a little nudge if you know what I mean.

At 7 weeks he's a little too young to be seperated from his mom, so mistakes are understandable...

If you use the confinement method, make sure to spend a lot of time with him in there so he wouldn't be lonely. This is not meant to be a punishment, just to help him find the box.

I will try to keep him in the one room because now he has taken to peeing on the couch!!! The only problem is if noone is in there with him he meows nonstop.
