My vet started carrying Chicken soup it is $19.00 for a 18lb bag..I have my 2 male cats on Nutro indoor formula right now it is $30.00 for a 20lb bag. Both of them weigh 12-13lbs..

I am wondering if I should switch them...but would the Chicken soup make them gain weight? I looked at the ingredients and Nutro is 33 percent protein 14 fat and Chicken soup is 30 protein and 20 fat.

So really which is the better food? I am going to start giving both of my cats advantage flea control at the beginning of each month even in the winter. Here in IL it gets warm for a few weeks then cold a few weeks all winter long so the flea thing is a constant battle for me 12 months of the year...and my one cat keeps getting tape worms so I am going to make sure they have that flea stuff once a month!

Thanks for the help.

I feed the chicken soup and love it, as far as the weight gain, any food if fed excessively can lead to weight gain, if you feed the recommended amounts you should be fine. and as far as my kitties' weight on the chicken soup I prefer my cats to be a little plump, but that's a different story

thanks! I do feed the recommended amounts.

I understand I don't want my cats to be skinny either they are so cuddly how they are!
I just want them to be healthy and live a long life.

there both good but you are on an indoor and yes 6% fat is a bit ... it could be about 10% cal difference ... I would say mix them and see how it goes

Thanks sharky!

Okay I'll buy a bag and mix it half and half...then see if they gain weight or have a decline in health...I suppose.

I'm new to this whole cat thing.

I did get a sample of the chicken soup from the vet and gave it to my cats as a treat (a few peices) and they loved it.

of all the cats that I've hd come through my doors since I started feeding it, not one has turned up their nose, including the cat that supposedly only ate salmon flavored Friskies wet
