My wife ran over the easter bunny :(

I was just talking to my wife and she told me that this morning it was darker out than usual, and she was driving when she saw a bunny hopping across the road. Right as she thought "Aw, a cute little bunny!" *thud*

I don't blame her though, I did the same thing with a racoon once. As soon as it registered what it was, it ran out in front of my car.

Make sure to give your wife some extra hugs tonight!!

aww that so sad, but bunnies are not very good with roads & cars, so I hope she doesnt feel too bad about it

I once knocked over a pheasant in the UK, they are mad too, they run all over the road, back & forth, but it still pains you when you hit something, I even brake to avoid sparrows

Aw, your poor wife, and poor bunny.

The title of your thread caught my eye because my father used to tell his kids that he shot and killed the Easter Bunny just before Easter every year (and Rudolph at Christmas).

Anyway, I hope the bunny rests in peace.

I brake for birds too! Plus Frogs, and occasionally the leaf that looks like a critter! Luckily I live in the middle of nowhere, so theres not a lot of traffic here!

I brake for everything if I can. Like I said, I nailed that racoon and if I could've stopped it I would have.

He took out my fog lamps so I guess he got his revenge.

RIP little bunny

Sometimes these things just happen, unfortunately.

My one roadkill bunny actually ran into me! Hit my tire.

Lately roadkill around here seems to be squirrels, raccoons, possums, and skunks.

same thing happened to me, the bunny was running along side the road and inexplicably turned right into my car

I have also hit raccoons, one ran straight at my car, I think it was suicidal, cause I tried to swerve and it swerved too and then I hit a giant raccoon coming up over a rise in the road doing about 55 mph (which was the speed limit!) have had a giant hole in my car for the last 2 years

Right now there are lots of animals moving around-I've seen dead rabbits, turkies, cats, squirrels, raccoons.
I hit a rabbit years ago-couldn't avoid it-otherwise I'll dodge as much as possible!

As much as I try, I haven't been fully successful with humans yet

I've smacked a horse though...it lived.

Nothing has died under my tires yet.

I squished a baby raccoon once. It was raining, the mom & dad raccoon ran across the street in front of me followed by one, two, three babies. I slowed, let them cross, then proceeded, just as baby # 4 came running across the street.

KaTHUMP!

I felt bad for DAYS.

When it comes to bunnies, I prefer to bite their ears off.

My mother hit a baby deer once. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, it didn't even really damage the car. Just a bent license plate frame.

OMG I have killed 2 raccoons with my car..and then had to drive past them everyday until they disintegrated

My ex bf would always make me feel bad saying the coons I hit probably had babies somewhere and that now the babies would die without their mom I felt SO bad..I cried and cried.

I know for a fact that if I ever hit a cat or a dog, I wouldn't be able to drive home..I would lose it. Just thinking that was someones pet and I killed it.

Well RIP little bunny

Ahh.....

At least you all have the decency to feel bad about it, and not try and hit the animal on purpose.

And if there's no Easter eggs for me this year, I'll know who to blame!

Sorry but I know why he's your ex, what a jerk I'd be too upset to give my wife hell about what she just did "He probably had baby bunnies somewhere".

Aww But its not her fault. Things like this happen.......I try and brake for all things that cross my path(well except for a deer ) Other than that, I havent ever hit anything.

For you wife.

I'm sorry but that's hilarious!

I hit a kitty once She was a beautiful one too. A long haired albino. She lived too! I know it wasn't my fault because this woman's husband let her out but I still pitched in on the vet bills.

That's sad what happened to the bunny dont blame yourself . I do think the DNR should allow people to take freshy hit and killed animals( Rabbits deer, coons, ect.) home to clean, bucher and eat,( if you like wild meat) or if not to bury in their garden if you hit them. Then in my opinion it would be less wasteful. And you would be using the life you took. The problem with this if DNR made this legal everyone who wanted meat would do this, which I think is wrong, only the people who acadently kill should have the option, if they want to that is.http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/ima...lies/frown.gif

A dead bunny buchered right would make great raw cat food.
