Spot is exhibiting some behaviors that coincide with hyperesthesia symptoms. His back ripples, he licks his front paws and legs, his ears twitch and he runs away; but he doesn't chase his tail or chew at it or meow throughout the night. I have noticed this for about 3 or 4 weeks now. I have another cat that shows no symptoms, so I don't think its fleas or a skin infection.
I am worried because of what I've read about seizures and everything that go along with this disorder.
I also hear alot about food allergies and these symptoms? Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

My Ginger's back ripples a great deal, and her ears twitch a great deal, but she has incredibly sensitive skin. She also licks at her paws, but not more than the usual amount for grooming, as far as I can tell.

She used to chase her tail a LOT, but not since we got Ferris for her to chase instead.

Along with the paw licking, is there any shaking of the paws? Is the licking obsessive? Have you discussed this with your vet?

Penelope obsessively licks her front paws but she has arthritis bad. She also has the ear twitching. I agree, I'd talk to the vet. There may be a few things going on there and not just one really bad one.
