Adopted kittens carried rabies!

There is just a small blurb about this, but it really upset me to read! How could this happen???

It's very easy for something like this to happen. The lady probably was one of the many irresponsible breeders, that let thier cats run wild outside without vaccinations. One of them probbaly contracted it from a wild animal, and spread it to the others. The only real way to test for it is to euthanize the animals, so obviously until they started showing signs no one probably knew. It's too bad that this had to happen, it could have been easily prevented.

that is just so terrible............if you are gonna let your pets out they need the right vacinations. People still dont get it when they decide to have a pet/s

How awful!! I just hope they are certain it's rabies before the euthanize all of the cats. That's so tragic.

That's awful!
I know the shelter here has adopted out kittens with distemper, but we honestly did not know & felt so terrible.
