hi there. I have a 1 1/2 year old Scottish fold female cat whom I bought from a vets as a 12 week old. Since the time I have had her, she has been extreemly sensitive with food and can only eat ZD Low Allergy cat biscuits. If she has anything else she gets chronic diarreah which eventually passes as mucous. Even tried her with chicken breast etc, nothing helps. Also, she has a reoccuring eye problem, which Ive been told could be a result of her mother having Chlamidia. She develops weepy, sticky eyes every couple of weeks. Can anyone help me with this problem? Is there anything I can do for her eyes? And will she be on the ZD formula for life?

Thanks, Sarah

I'm so sorry you are having problems. From your post it sounds like this is a lifelong thing.

The SF breeders over here don't seem to have any problems as you describe. I think you just wound up with a poor quality bred cat. Some cats are allergic to certain foods - if your SF is, then you'll be having the same problems her entire life.

I don't know if allergies run in lines, they could. Does this vet have problems with the rest of his/her cats?

Im not entirely sure, there was only one other kitten left, im pretty sure i could get in contact with the former owners and also the girl who bought the other kitten. The vet did say that some breeders can get lazy and not look after the basic health of the queen, therefore the poor kittens suffer. I will look into finding out about the other kitten.Thank you!
