How you all doing? I was actually sent here from a dog site, but I happen to have 6 cats, so thought I might hang around
We have a 12yo black and white DSH who is not entirely impressed at the new additions - but she gets our bedroom to herself, so she'll live
We also have 4 13 week DSH kittens, who are black, and only one has enough white to count as a distinguishing feature. I did their induction at the SPCA and was a bit stumped by 4 black male kittens! Also a 15 week old tortishell female.
These babies all had ringworm, and we usually euth all ringworm cats because if we don't we'll never get rid of it.
Since my dog and myself already had ringworm I offered to foster. *cough* "Foster"
The boys were 5 weeks old when I took them, the girl about 9 weeks when I took her two weeks later (she'd been waiting to be PTS for 7 days!
)
They were all desexed last week, and are healing nicely. We're doing slow intros with our dog, who is pretty good, but I wouldn't trust him unsupervised! He's a little bit overwhelmed by 5 fast-moving creatures. (Our adult cat lives downstairs seperately)
These are my babies:
Jessie
Jessie was the first to be really friendly. He purrs like a train and will push his head in between your hand and whoever you're patting - he was names after Jesse Custer from the Preacher comics
John
John was named because he's the smallest, and my partner's best friend is very short. He is fine featured and only really got cuddly and confident in the last few weeks. He has a way of looking constantly startled
It's a crap picture, but it makes me laugh, and I can't find any better ones. He has an almost oriental face in real life
Oscar
We always thought Oscar would be the hunter of the family, as he would chase with much more enthusiasm than his brothers. Now he's got bigger, Jessie has surpassed him in enthusiasm and skill. He's one of the bigger boys, and comes across as the most ballsy, smart one
Bert
Bert is our biggest baby, with a big round head and more substantial body. He was the slowest learner, content to swing a paw lazily while the others flew through the air, later content to munch his way through twice as much food as his siblings, then curl up and snooze on you. Only in the last couple of weeks has he come into his own, seeming much more alert and cat-like (as opposed to kitten-like!) than before
Eisen
Eisen is much more independant, and likes to be patted on her own terms. Her hobbies include beating up her brothers and eating too much - she's the only one with a wee buddah belly
Eisen was not handed over like her brothers, but was abandoned on the street. She's confident and self-assured, and knows what she wants. We wanted a different sort of name for our girl - so, Eisen. Eisen is iron in German. Goes with her colouring too
The pictures vary in quality, due to being off a phone, but also in when they were taken - Jessie, for example, was about 6 weeks in that picture, whereas Bert was about 8 weeks and Eisen about 10 weeks.
And if they just look like black kittens to you, don't worry, even I have difficulty telling them apart in crappy photos!
Looking forward to talking to ya'll later
