I made the box a couple years ago. And today I added a fan to it.

There's no place like home
How creative, particularly with the fan. I have to ask - does the fan get too warm to be that close to the plastic?

When I saw the first pic I laughed cause I buy Sterilite boxes but simply throw away the lid and use it as an open box!!

Thanks!
The fan doesn't get warm at all.
That is a computer case fan you usually find in some desktop computer.
The fan is very weak and quiet, just enough to generate mild air current.
Perfect for this application.

That's fantastic! I can't say that I'd ever have the energy or the smarts to use all those tools
... But that's wonderful. Kudos to you for the ingenious invention!!

Thats pretty cool! We just use the rubbermaid totes as open boxes, they work wonderfully!

The handle is just for picking up the top part so that I can clean the box.
I clean it by removing the top part. This is why I keep the lid of the box and made a frame out of it, so that the top part is removable just like regular litter box. I just glue the top upside down box to the top of the lid-frame, but not the lid-frame to the lower box.(see the pic below)

The litter is quite deep cause my cats like them deep.
I also found that more sand in the box can let them cover their poop easier than less sand.
I have 2 cats and clean the litter box about once or twice a day.

Heh, I will consider myself a lazy person. But when it comes to those little ones that I love so much, I guess I am willing to do all sorts of crazy things for them.
