oh sorry. I looked quickly at the nutrition area to see if it was there. Maybe I overlooked it.

Is ok. We are all worried about our furbabies, and too much info is better than not enough.

I was given 3 pouches of the affected food in question, and thankfully I had not fed it too my little ones. I checked the codes, and they are in the recall. I will be tossing them out, seeing as they were given to me, so I am not out anything. Thanks for the timely info on this. I will be posting a notice in the building about it, seeing as there are a lot of cats in the building.

This has really got me worried for the pets of people who feed these foods. I'm going to pass this info on to everyone I know.

I have already checked and have 3 packages of Iams foil here. Thankfully I have not fed them to my little ones yet. I will be throwing them out pronto. I have printed a copy of the notice to post in the building as many people here have cats, and should know. WTG all.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post, but I thought it would get seen by the most eyes in the lounge...

My SIL just called me she's watching CNN & they just did a big thing on this pet food recall. They said 10 animals have reportedly died so far. The stores they listed are Walmart, Safeway, and one other she couldn't remember (not Petsmart or Petco).... anyway...I googled the website she gave me. Here is what I found:

http://www.menufoods.com/recall/Pres...l_03162007.pdf

This says they will post the full list of products the make tomorrow.... I am assuming/hoping that my 2 are safe, as I don't get my food there, and the lot of food I've been feeding them I got on Monday and have been feeding them all week with it, and they seem ok.

My sis couldn't go to bed without telling me so I could come & tell all of you....maybe someone could research it a bit further?

I will pray for everyone's animals.....

I don't understand why they are waiting till tomorrow to post the brands. They have already named two, and they are well-known brands. This is very disturbing for any cat owner, not knowing if their wet food is amongst the ones recalled. I don't feed my boys "store-brand" food, but it sounds like it is a lot of well-known brands, including quality ones!

i think you may be right there, I have posted a notice to all cat owners in the building already, and will update it tomorrow when the more detailed notice comes out.

Yikes... Iams and Eukanuba are involved eh? That's a LOT of pets that have been possibly affected
Hopefully this all resolves smoothly without too many serious problems arising!

I hope so too. I have already posted a notice in the building here, and will update it tomorrow as I can. Thankfully I do not feed sugar and spice those foods, but i did have 3 foil packages given to me, and I had not fed them to my kittys. They are now in the garbage. Hopefully things work out for the best, nad no more kits are affected.

I've been feeding Beauty wet food every morning because she has a hard time chewing the dry food now. At least she's not on the 2 brands listed, but what about the others??

I don't think it should be that complicated to know which new ingrediant went into what brand
Don't they keep a database of this???

I was at work when the recall came in, and I work at Petsmart. It's crazy. I had to call home and yell at Mom not to feed the cat's because they eat the Sophisticat Supreme and it's a good thing I did because the UPC's match. oi..

It is aggravating! Why can't they give the list to the FDA and let them put it up tonight? Bird gets her meds with wet 9 Lives chunky with gravy catfood twice a day! I guess I'll just give her as little as possible...

I have to check. Twitch & Lily eat mostly Nutro pouches.
Twitch gets so sick easily & already has kidney damage there's nothing I can do about. The more I think about this the madder I get, but at least they are recalling the foods & being pro-active!

ETA: All the wet food I feed Twitch & Lily is being recalled.
