Help, I am the proud mama of two kittens, Bart and Ted. 12 weeks and 16 weeks. They were both rescue kittens. The problem is that they want to be in our bed at night and they are playing, cuddling, suckling, and basically waking us up all night. We live in a studio, and have tried to lock them in the kitchen, but they were so traumatized after two nights of separation. I don't know what to do?? My husband wants sleep and is getting very upset.

Welcome to the site Amelia! Those of us with grown up cats probably are a little envious of your problem.
Ah, to have them as kittens again. *sigh* They grow up so fast.

Rest assured, they will eventually calm down. Until then, give them some serious play time before bed time to wear their little butts out.
Especially use fishing pole type toys that you can whip around and make them run, run, run to chase it. They may not sleep through the night yet, but it will at least give you a chance to get to sleep and maybe even sleep through some of their antics.

Thanks for your reply....yeah I did exactly that last night....ran their cute little furry tails off...but they seem to be Olymic Athlete material. Bart my littlest one turns into the great luvvvvver when the lights go out and needs to be in moms hair, chest, back, neck, purrrrrrring like a harley davidson. Which is cute and cuddly n all for a little while....but the boy can go all night!! I teased my husband that he could learn a little from Bart.

ahh I have two demons like that on our bed at night too. LOL Just steer clear of catnip toys anything. One thing you can do is install a fish aquarium in another room (make sure the lid is on tight) leave the light on at night and kitties have instant entertainment that keeps them occupied for hours. Just be sure the tank is stablized as they will jump up on the top if they can. My hubby built a sort of shelf over ours so the kitties can lay on it and peer into the watery depths.
