When I shower I use one of those bath puff things: http://hometown.aol.com/lffunt/tullebp.htm

Well as I was showering today I looked down and the thing was full of mold, and it was only a week old. Now I know why I am having sore throats and cold like symptoms, I've been taking a shower in mold spores for the last few days.

Never again will I use that thing.

I wanted to post this as a warning to others... make sure you check yours!

Neither, could it be your bathroom?? Did you wash down the walls with a streamer when you moved in?

Do you know how dirty bathroom walls get?? I am so disgusted that you cant see the funghi untill you use a steamer!

My wife and I both use them (Yes, I'm a guy and I use a shower poof), and I've never noticed mold. Although the one in the picture is different than the ones we have. Ours is made of, a Nylon or something like that.

i've heard you are supposed to toss them out every month (was watching some morning show when i heard that). they get pretty gross. i use washcloths instead because of skin problems i have. my DH loves his shower poof, and even though he's heard the same thing, will not part with it.

Eeewwwww!!! I have never heard of that, and I've never seen any on mine and I've been using them for years (uh, not the same one for years).
That is definitely not helping your health at all.
Perhaps you have high humidity in your apartment and consequently a mold problem?

Yeah... I'm still never using them again. It was so nasty I don't want to think about it.

The ones I use are like in the above link.

I've never had a problem with mine and I absolutely love it. I got my first one back in about 1993 and I just threw it out last fall because it was getting really worn out. I'm now on my second one.

After I finish using it I rinse out the soap and hang it on either the tap, fawcet or hook to dry. I never leave it sit in water.

Don't give up on them. The brand you used looks different than the one I use. Mine are made of a nylon material that almost feels like soft plastic.
