Today is the big day. I will be leaving here at 8am (its 6:15am right now) to take him to the vet to be neutered. I am real nervous so please keep him and me in your thoughts. Plus I have a 40 min. one way trip ahead of me to get him there. I'll let you know how things go when I get back this afternoon.

Awww bless him, he'll be fine. Males are a lot easier than females so that's one good thing.

Sending Ping ((((((((((mega healing vibes)))))))))))

Right now he is mad because I can't feed him. Poor guy. I had to take up all his dry food last night. One thing I worry about is how he will react to the vet. He is not use to people that are not his family.

Sending good vibes and prayers for Ping's big day

Rosie is right - its easier on the males than the females so it won't be too rough for him.

I am sure he will be just fine. It is hard not to worry though. I was a nervous wreck when mine went in to get theirs done too.

Lets see if it posts this time.

Ok I just got back from dropping him off. I made it there a little after 8am. He was very vocal on the way there. They said they will call me when it is time to pick him up. They said that it would be sometime this afternoon. I also told them to trim his claws while he is under sedation. Boy the looks he gave me when I left him there could have dropped a moose.

oh, he's just trying to make you feel guilty. he'll be fine!

Nope not done yet. When I took him in this morning they said it would be closer to noon before they could do the surgery. But that it should be done and ready for me to pick him up this afternoon. As soon as I get the call to pick him up I will update. My husband is worried on how he reacted and stuff when they took him out of the carrier. He is so not used to people. We hardly have any visitors. And when we do have people (family) come over he is not very happy. He gets that raccoon tail going. And I then put him in a quiet room till they leave so he can be at peace so to speak.

Good luck for the surgery! I am sure he will be fine, even if he is nervous around strangers the vets are used to dealing with all sorts of personalities

Good luck to Ping, hoping everything will turn out ok but I am sure it will.

Just called the vet. They said they have done the surgery and he is doing well but is still pretty groggy. They said I can come and pick him up around 3:30pm so I will be leaving here between 2:30-3:00.

I bought a bunch of new toys for him after I dropped him off at the vet. Wal-Mart was having a sale.

Well we made it back. And he seems to be doing well. He is slowly walking around and he ate some (wet). You can tell he is very disordinated. But all in all he is doing well. I think he is in his litter box right now. So yeah he is doing good.

Glad to hear things went well..he may remain "groggy" for the remainder of the day from the anesthesia, but by tomorrow, he will be better...

Well get better ping. Poor thing. Tell him he is still male

When Radar came home after his double op (neuter and umbilical hernia repair) he was really woozy and a little bit sore and couldn't get up or down from the sofa, so I put cushions on the floor by my feet so he could have somewhere comfy to rest that was still close to me. He will be fine in no time, I bet he is his old self tomorrow! Just make him comfortable tonight, he will be OK.
