Well today is the day that the Persians the breeder sold me that are PKd positive go back. They are in their carriers and just waiting to be loaded up in the car. I am meeting at a halfway point to deliver them. It's a sad morning b/c I couldn't get the funds together to save Kono. I will miss her greatly.

My heart is heavy for your Kono, but you are doing the right thing with the others. Don't be too hard on yourself. If anything, know that you are a more responsible person than the breeder. Perhaps your action will make the breeder more aware that they should be disclosing such things to potential buyers.

I'm so sorry you have to do what you have to do. I'm sorry you had to make the decision in the first place.

Be at peace with the decision you made, it's the best you can do.

Thank you for the kind words. I feel angry b/c the woman beleives it's okay to breed the positive cats and continue too. She says that Dr. Lyons told her not to spay/neuter them b/c of their good bloodlines. So now she's spreading that nonsense around. The goal of any other cattery with positive cats is to breed to negative cats and getting negative replacements and spaying/neutering them. that way the bloodlines are still there.

You are right, maybe she will be more forthcoming with things from now on.

It really sucks doesn't it to have to do something you don't want too.

I do beleive that everything happens for a reason and that good will come from this. Somehow. Some way.

You're experiencing something that every good breeder has to go through.
The live and learn curve.
Some of the best ways to learn how to be a good breeder is to experience bad things. It's unfortunate as always, but it hits home so hard, you don't forget.
That's why having a great mentor, is so important. You listen to what they say, because they've already been through it and can prevent you from having to do the same.

I wish you better luck and success in the future. If nothing else, you have an Ace in your pocket now from this ordeal, to keep you from getting burned again.

Yes I'm a bit wiser now. I know from speaking with people on here and other breeders that I did the right thing by sending those cats back. I couldn't knowlingly breed positive kittens.
It hurts to not have Kono here - hurts BAD - but I couldn't keep them and that meant her too.

I've pulled my drawers up tighter and sat down and focused on what to do with my breeding and everything. I will be asking a lot more questions, demanding to see proof and hopefully not be so gullible.

I appreciate SO much the warm thoughts and well wishes from everyone here that I've gotten.
