after rolling her all through the house last night, today we went for our first walk. She examined everything, seemed a little nervous at first but eventually sat down and just rode. another cat approached us and she didn't hiss or freak out and cry. she enjoyed new sounds and smells and when we passed a high school girl who was trying not to laugh out loud, i had a big grin. Tomorrow we go to the arboretum.

for those who didn't read he posted picture thread... cost $60 only had to snap the wheels on. the fabric is pretty sturdy but a really manic cat might not like it, Abigail is pretty docile. (usually)

That's cute. How did you meet the other cat? Was it a stray?

I'm not sure if it would be allowed to take a cat in a stroller in the aquarium, but it would be worth it

You could put a blanket over and smuggle her in

OMG that's hilarious!

Hey, if it works, then kudos to you!
Abigail does look like she's having a good time. You should definitely try to sneak her into the aquarium!

Here... or There... Hmmm
That is so cute and such a neat thing for Abigail! I love it, I wish I could do stuff like that for Kitters but she's so scared of outside and almost anything that I don't even attempt it. Which is fine cuz I don't need her wanting to get out when she doesn't need to be out. She is happy with sitting in the door all summer long on her own stool!

Wow! I can't believe that Abigail wasn't freaked out! I am afraid that Mollie and Sophie would flip! I love the photo and look forward to today's big adventure!

Congrats!

Sounds like she had a great time and you can look forward to more walks in the future. I will definitely consider getting one of these in the future.

I have to voice my 2cents: I've seen that comment on the other thread about the zoo and you have to realize that zoos are quarantined and I wouldn't chance bringing my animal there simply because what an animal has that isn't harmful to them could be deadly to your animal and vice versa.
Herpes for example in humans isn't harmful but in chimps..deadly...They have their own herpes virus which isn't deadly to them but potentially fatal to humans.

There is a reason there is lots of space between us and the animals at the zoo, it's so that we don't pass things back and forth.

I wouldn't want to do something potentially harmful to my animal or to the animals at a zoo.

I know you guys are kidding but people might actually think it's a good idea to show your cats the cool things at the zoo.

Sorry I just had to say it, don't hate me.

About the maiden voyage: i can see that girl snickering...she must think you're nuts!

you are right, we are joking. I am going to take her to the arboretum however as they let leashed dogs in there.

Aww that is so cute
I've seen those in the petstores before. I'm not sure how Bean would like it?
But your little girl seems to be loving it!

Do you secure her in the stroller with a harness and strap or is she okay sitting free?? I bought one of these online today and I am hoping I will not have to have Annie wear a harness - that would be a problem as I am pretty sure she wouldn't like me attempting that. The main reason I bought one was for vet visits - taking taxis is too much pressure, along with everything else.

if it's a short neighborhood walk I just put her in and as long as I am moving she doesn't stir at all. I could even leave it open but I don't.

when we are out for hours as we did satuirday at the arboretum I have her harness on and her leash so she can move around inside the stroller but not jump out if a bird happened by. When we stopped I let her out wearig a harness and leash and she had a nasty encounter with a blackberry vine so she got back inside and went to sleep. At home she likes to sleep in it. it's quite adorable.
