We were outside at the day care today, and the kids come and told me they found a snake on the fence.

I really didn't think that they found one, but sure enought we went over there, and on the top of the chain link fence there was a little snake. I ran to the church, and I got the preacher there. And he came and got it off the fence with a stick or something, they put it in a bag and took it across the street and put it in the bushes.

It scared me to death, it was just a little bitty snake too, but I betcha mama was some where around.

How scary!!

Leave it to the kids to find things like that!
I'm glad they came and told you though! Some of the boys at the preschool I used to work at would've caught it instead!

At least they didn't bring it in as a present for you.

I wonder if it was a garden snake harmless. Might have the precher figure a way to not let snakes in which will be hard I know. Just a thought.

I don't see how we could ever do that, we were outside, I think we might get some lime though and put in around the outside of the fence.

Yeah, me too, I am just glad that the preacher was at the church.

My next option woulda been calling the police to come and catch it.

I certainly wasn't gonna do it.

If I remember correctly, isn't the weather nice and warm there? (was watching the weather channel at the doctor's office earlier) I think they said high 70s. You'll probably see more snakes and other animals with spring on it's way.

I'm glad that the kiddies didn't see anything bad happen to it.

It's great to teach them to respect nature and to let the little snake go, or in some cases to leave an animal be.

I am glad that they found it and come and got us, we couldn't let the snake go near the playground, and of course we couldn't just let it be, I had no idea what kind of snake it was. I can not take the chance on letting it be, I have other peoples children to think of.

Oh no, you misunderstood!
I meant the little kids leave it be, not grab it up and parade it around like a toy.

I think I did misunderstand a little, the kids did leave it be, they came and got me.

I thought that you meant for us to let the snake be, and just let it go away.

I wanted that snake far away from me and from the kids.

If it was inside, she woulda threatened to set the day care on fire if the police didn't come and get it out.

We would have to put them outside of the fence, we couldn't put them inside on account of the kids.

But I have heard that before, I will tell my director about it.
