My 2 older cats (2 and a half yrs) seem to shed a lot of hair compared to the younger ones. One of them has medium length hair, and the other has shorter hair.

Is there anything in terms of nutrition I can do for them that might help with this?

Will grooming them more help, or will this just exacerbate the problem?

yes grooming will help but what kind of food do you feed them? if it is poor quality grocery store food then that isn't helping any.

they all eat the same food - Nutro Complete Dry, and unfortunately Felix wet, because they wont eat the quality wet I can get around here!

How often should I groom them to make a difference?

In my opinion probably, I comb my long haired cat every day and vigoroursly, and he never sheds and happily also never has hairballs.
