I am fostering a momma cat and her 4 babies. The babies are now about 8 or 9 weeks old. When can mother cats go into heat after having a littler of babies? What are the signs?

Thanks!

She probalby can at any time now really. But she doesn't have to be in heat to get pregnant. Is she indoors and away from intact males? Is there any reason they are waiting to spay her?

Mommies can go in to heat even a week or 2 after the babies are born. But they do not have to go in to heat to get pregnant again so you need to get her down to be spayed ASAP.

I just wanted to let you all know that the momma kitty was spayed yesterday and she is doing ok. Last night her kids were trying to nurse from her and she growled at them and they all scattered!
