Anyone else see this movie this weekend and was TOTALLY blown away? HELLO?! Beefcakes (as my boyfriend put it........) awesome visuals, acting, good ole' fighting and a timeless story of heroism! Not to mention just the energy, and time the actors had to put in physically to do all those stunts and militia movements. I would gladly watch this over and over.

LOL. I didn't even know he was in this movie.

I do want to see this.. I hadn't heard much about it.. but one preview was enough for me. I'll have to wait to see it when it comes out on DVD though.

i cant add to the man dooling parts here.
hehe but the movie was fun, i just wished they had put on the right amour for the spartan warriors, Thinking i need to go find the graphic novel., why not i have
lots of other frank millers comics still in lock up.

but maybe they thought some "beefcake" would be good for the laides

You definately want to get Frank Miller's graphic novel 300 as its the best thing he has drawn since Ronin

His version of the 300 is based on fact whilst I've heard varying things about the movie. I'll wait to see it before passing opinion however

I'd realyl like to go see it, but as I really don't go to the movies that much, I might have to wait... but I don't rent many videos either, I'll never see it!!
I'm going to go to this one!

I *LOVED* it....loved the gorgeous muscled men in bikinis too...is there going to be a calendar?
what I did not like though was the stupid narrative voice stating the obvious the whole time. Ugh!

Stylistically yes it does but it has been a good couples years since I last read the novel. One of my friends who read it more recently told me that there was this entire homoerotic part with the Spartans that it did not go into at all except quite the opposite when the King says something to the effect of "We are real men who fight unlike those boy lovers the Archadians".

I will have to find my copy and reread it though or plop down at the bookstore

Well we saw it tonight and loved it!

Awesome energy and totally theatrical.
Very very entertaining.
The beefcake was a major plus too!
Those leather briefs did not look comfy.
I'm glad we went and saw it on the big screen instead of waiting as usual to rent it. Some movies you just gotta see with the surround sound and wide screen.

When I saw 300 it was like someone crawled inside my husband's head and wrote down EXACTLY what he wanted to see. I laughed through the whole movie because all he did was clutch his pop corn and smile. It was wonderful to see him enjoy something like that.

LOL now that's funny!

I didn't want to see this film after a preview *yawn* but I'm like that with all these types of movies and then when I finally watch them, I love them
ie. Troy

I thought it was great and I loved the story!
