an ice cube in Iowa...
There's just no rhyme or reason to that kind of human behavior...dumping a precious little life into a garbage bin like that. And you're right...I could think of 30 people or more that would have easily given her a loving home.

Chloe is a gorgeous little muffin. I suspect that she'll be a medium to long-haired cat, and will be quite beautiful when she enters into adulthood. Congrats to you on your new addition...hey, the more, the merrier!

Tasha, you were definitely meant to find this little beauty, Chloe. The names suits her perfectly too.

Okay, for fleas... I saw a "holistic" remedy on one of the sites that I thought might work here... and a direct quote: "There are many good quality herbal pet shampoos available that incorporate the essential oils of eucalyptus, citronella, pennyroyal, or other flea repellant oils. Follow label direction. (Do not use these if your pet is being treated homeopathically, as they can antidote remedies.) Alternatively, you can use any good quality non-medicated pet shampoo, leaving a thick lather on your pet for 10-15 minutes to drown the fleas. Be careful not to let small puppies or kittens become chilled or overheated, and don't bathe more than once weekly.
and also this about flea combing: Most animals can be combed with a flea comb to remove fleas. A flea comb is very fine-toothed comb, the teeth being closer together than the width of a flea. They are available at pet shops and feed stores, and I highly recommend their use as a part of any flea control program.

Depending on the severity of the flea problem, you should comb your pet at least once weekly or as much as twice daily. Concentrate on the areas where fleas congregate, usually around the neck in cats, and on the lower back and belly in dogs. Drop the fleas in a bowl of soapy water to drown them.

On names: Just as an FYI and a larger choice of names if you were looking for that... from mythology, the three "Fates" were, as one unit, named "Moirae" or "Moirai" (pronounced Moi-rah (rhyming with Joy)). Their individual names were Clotho, who spun the threads of life, Lachesis, who alloted the length of the yarn, and Atropos who cut the thread of life. Anyway, that's Greek mythology and can be found here: http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/g...hp?deity=FATES

Roman was "Parcae", broken down into three names, slightly different jobs: Nono, Decima, Morta. Info available here: http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/r...p?deity=PARCAE

Potential names also meaning or similar to Fate: Destiny, Kismet, Karma, Serendipity, Chance, Fortune...

Bless your heart for finding her and taking the little darling in. She is such a beautiful baby, and I just can't believe how horrid some people are! I really wish I could believe it were an accident that she ended up there.

How could anyone look at a precious baby of ANY species and just abandon them and not give them a chance! We have gotten all of our kitties, except for one, because they needed a home b/c the one they were in was pure crud or they had no home! I have found homes for all of them but the 2 I have now... Congratulations on being the crazy cat lady! Finally, someone to take the title from me! lol!

How could anyone look at that dear little face and put her into a dumpster?

Okay, let me play the other side for a second.
Since you said she seems to have been well carried for is it possible that she just wandered off and fell into the dumpster somehow...or is it to big for her to have just fallen in?
But, then again I know if she were my kitten and she came up missing I'd be looking everywhere for her and have "Lost Kitten" posters up all over the place.

She's just the cutest little critter, I'm so glad you decided to keep her.

Ok well my chances of a VBAC are out the window unless I go in to labor on my own which is possable but for know they are stopping it. I just got back my BP is high I have lost 3 lbs of the 6 I have gained abby is head down engaged and I lost my plug. I go back Wenesday for a NST and just a check. I go tonight at 5pm for the ultrasound. Then next Monday at 910 am I have an appt and we plan to set up a c-section day for 38 weeks. So I have 2 weeks ladys I am so not ready but how my body feels I need to have her or I will go nuts and wind up only hurting myself with the high blood pressure. so all in all I am ok but in 2 weeks I will have a baby. I am on BP medication now 5x a day.

I must have missed the part where you said she was inside a box as well as in the dumpster.

I just don't understand some people
...how could anyone do that to any animal?
