My sister and I were discussing this on the way in to work this morning.. and the more I thought about it, the more I think kitty is best safe with you. She voiced the same thoughts that I did, of a spouse or partner, or parents of children who "brought home a kitty" got rid of it.. so.. since the potential is there, I'm changing my vote to nix the signs, and keep the kitten. I'm going to worry to death if you post that sign... if the original person who got it sees the sign, calls you, describes the kitty.. and then takes it home, whatever the original offender does is going to be a lot more permanent the next time around.

If it's someone who did accidentally get rid of it.. well, she's still little, so, while they may have been attached, they probably just got her and haven't formed a really deep bond yet (hopefully). I'd just rather see her safe than take the off chance that something might happen to her again...

Keep us posted!

I am not fond of the sign idea neither, if someone would have lost it, they would be the ones putting up the signs.

I don't think it was an accident, not shut up in the box like she was.

If I were you, I would just keep the kitty, I would not do signs, I would watch for signs that said Lost Kitty, but that is all I would do. But that is me, I think only you know what you would do.

I also think that there was a reason that you found this kitty.

Sending hugs and prayers to you again for finding and taking care of this kitty.

& it could've been. picture this - you have a box or 2 [or several, if you're anything like me,
] that need to be thrown away. you stack them up to take out, then do some other errands. then you take out the stack, not realizing there's an adorable calico kitten asleep inside of one.
however, i'd certainly be posting my own posters if i were missing that adorable little thing!

Yep, if I lost my kitty that is what I would be doing too

And if I throw away my boxes, I don't seal them up. I fold the flaps in, and I don't have a cat either, but I still fold the flaps in.

Wow, she is beautiful! So sad that someone was so heartless to discard her like trash. Grrrr....

I don't think I could resist that little one, I am a sucker that way, LOL...

I don't think you should be second guessing your actions here, Tasha. You've taken in poor Chloe and taken good care of her and are going to give her a good home. With the things that people do to animals everyday, I don't find it hard to believe someone shut her in that box and dumped her in the dumpster.
Chloe is such a precious wee beauty!
No wonder the poor wee angel stole your heart.

I'm glad she got an effectively clean bill of health. And, I'm glad that it's looking like she's going to live with you. I'm going to feel much better knowing that she's safe with you, in a good environment.

I've been a silent lurker in this thread until now.
I'm so glad you found Chloe, and I have no doubt that she is a fate kitty.

For those thinking someone wouldn't do this, I just heard a story on the news that reminded me of little Chloe. A garbage man found 2 adult cats in a dumpster. One is a ginger and white, and the other is a long-haired tortie. One of them is pregnant. They were IN A CARRIER!!!!! There was no way they could escape that! Thank goodness for the kind-hearted and attentive garbage man. The pair are now safe at the Cat Care Society, a wonderful no-kill shelter.

So, unfortunately, it is very possible that Chloe was put there on purpose.
But she has a strong guardian angel who sent another angel to that dumpster to find her and give her a wonderful home.

I am so glad you did NOT use the holistic remedy. Eucalyptus oil is toxic to kitties. That is the problem with the internet, there is a lot of information on it to be sure, but not every website is legit, and fact checkers are rare. Any time you find information about how to care for any animal on the web, please do your homework first before following it. Find a qualified vet and ask them if the information is harmful or helpful, check out the ingredients with the local poison control center, they also have a list of toxins to pets. Use a cautious eye and avoid heartbreak and disaster. I speak from personal experience, after losing a cat several years ago because the groomer used the wrong shampoo on him. Bartee went from a 16 pound beauty to a 7 pound mess in four days. It was a horrid quick death and we didn't figure out what happened until after he died.

i would not have used anything on the kittens or chloe unless i had gotten it from the vet anyway , but i wasnt sure if there was another effective way of removing the flees untill i had got to the vets , thanx for your reply.
chloe is doing great , she is getting on with 4 out of 8 cats so far. please dont have a go at me for this...... but she is now in my bedroom with anne and her kittens. she sleeps with me on the bed cuddled up to my neck or in my hair , and she sometimes sleeps in annes nest which she allows. i know she shouldnt be in there but she cried all night being stuck in the bathroom , now she sleeps all night with me. but yea , everything is going great .

I don't think it's terrible she's in there especially if Anne has accepted her.
Yep, sounds like a fate kitty to me!
