I am completely panicked!!! My brother-in-law just left with his 7 year old twins, and we noticed they someone got tape adhesive on our new microsuede sofa.

We have both been googling with no good results. Any ideas?????

Thanks!!!!

I think maybe the safest thing to try might be a warm steam iron.
I agree though, call a furniture store and ask.

Good idea, Kenz. Or you could try contacting Ari - I think her new couch is micro-fiber. Maybe it has care instructions on the tags.

Nature's Miracle make a special oil / glue remover for microsuede, not sure if they still do but it worked great and didn't mark when we used it.

I think it was the stain and odour remover one and we used an iron over some absorbent paper to melt and get as much of it off as possible and go rid of the white residue with the natures miracle.

Now we have slip covers that can just be thrown in the machine!

Thanks everyone!

I just saw something about Natures Miracle online as Eithne mentioned and also using the Mr. Clean magic eraser.

I am freaking out! It is right in the middle of the cushion!

Oooh I always get steamed when I hear that sort of thing! I am starting to think that I was unusual as a child because even from a very young age I was careful and gentle with animals and could be trusted around them.

I hope Abby is OK.

i would call the store you bought it from. we bought a warranty for stains on our new microfiber couch, so i think we are supposed to call the 1-800 number if anything gets on ours.

let us know if you get it out and what with. i'd be interested to know since i have the same kind of couch.

Nope... the tags on mine were just the tags from the store, didn't have any info on how to take care of it.

Either way, good luck.. I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread so that I know what to do if that ever happens to me - heaven forbid!

Oh no Karen....
your brother-in-law should pay to have a professional come in and clean it.

yeah, you just want it hot enough to melt the adhesive... this trick also works well for wax on your carpet

My advice would be to do nothing until you call the manufacturer. That sucks that it happened.
