A few of you posted last week in response to my Lilly cat sticking out her tongue.

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=117691

After a trip to the vet today the prognosis is not great. Lilly may have a form of cancer in her mouth. Her gums are misformed in the back and she has a really loose abscessed tooth.

She has lost 3lbs since August.

The vet took blood work, is checking to see if the rest of her body is functioning ok. If not we'll have a biopsy to confirm cancer.

If its cancer, its mostly likely a form that does not respond well to treatment and we may loose our Lilly girl much sooner than we ever expected.

We'll have had her two years on March 17th.

Please keep me in your thoughts. I need all the good vibes I can get right now.

Sending very good vibes your and Lilly's way!! I went through something very similar with my chinchilla Sarah, I hope that Lilly doesn't have to go through it!

Thanks for all the vibes already. I knew the place to come for some extra love and support. I'll keep you all posted on the lab results - we get them Monday.

Again thank you all for all the good vibes. My two babies are the first furbabies I've ever owned so this is especially hard.

We got the blood work back today and all is normal which means if what she has is cancer, it hasn't spread.

Next week we go back for a biopsy. We'll be scheduling that in Monday. More news to come.

That's positive news. I'm sending to Lilly, and hoping the biopsy is negative.

Lots of vibes coming your way that this is nothing serious.

I had a dog that had a malignant tumor in her mouth. The vet removed it and we hoped that it hadn't spread. In spite of that, the vet gave her 1 month to live. 18 months later, we lost her to a stroke (she was very old) - totally unrelated to the cancer.

If you have caught this early, luck may be on your side.
