Hi, I just found this forum and seems like a great place to learn more about what my cats need. I have two black cats, Samson (11 year old male ) and Cleo (7 year old female). In January Sammy came down with a UTI so our vet put him on the Hill s/d and recently he is now on the Hill c/d. For a few weeks now, there has been this strong amonia smell emanating from the litter and the urine no longer clumps in the litter. I think this is coming from Sammy since he has been having problems but now I am not sure. Is this something I should be concerned about and what should I do? He doesn't seem to have any other problems, he has been eating/drinking just fine and has had no problems using the litter box. Thanks for any insight you can offer!

Not too sure, sometimes when the box is due for a cleaning I will smell a strong ammonia smell. If you can be sure both cats are not straining to urinate or urinating in other places then it may just be the food or litter.

No as far as I know, he didn't have a panel done. So is it bad that the urine is not concentrating? I have looked on alot of different sites but can't find any reference to this.
